If I were you I would buy the 5er and have fun!! You have more than enough truck to handle it, just remember to have the truck plated heavy enough for the weight also.

Hi JohnSorry to disagree with the previous poster but I don"t think you have enough truck for that fifth wheel. Although you aren"t loading toys into it, don"t forget about everything else you may take with you that will add up weight, especially on a cross country trip. Your stuff you throw in the camper certainly won"t add up to the amount of a quad or motorcycle but it adds up nonetheless. I would recheck your tow capacity on your 3/4 ton as I don"t think it"s that high. I have a 2001 Ford F350 dually Crewcab and my fifth wheel capacity is 15500 lbs. If that fusion were loaded I would feel the need to go to a newer truck with higher towing capacity yet or an F450 or F550. Outside of tow capacity and trailer weight, also consider that the Fuzion 402 is 39 feet long and 8"6" wide. That"s a lot of camper to tow, especially with a 3/4 ton truck. Have you considered any other Keystone models? They have other brands like the Cougar or Montana that have great layouts. My Keystone Cougar fifth wheel has a built in slide out bike rack on the back that will haul up to 250 lbs.Good luck.Dale

Hi DaleI have considered other trailers. But lets take into consideration our lifestyle. we sold our house after the children moved out, and know my wife and i bought a acre of land and we live in a outback fifthwheel now, fulltimers as you westerners say. my wife and i are german. i don`t miss the house at all.........we come and go as we want.......i want a toyhauler so our dogs will live in the garage when on the road. it don`t work good in bunk house. and we are not leaving them home.........and yes my max axle weight for my truck is 3559. 1996 dodge came out with heavy duty suspension for truck bed campers, and my max combined weight is 18000. i was thinking about putting in an exhaust brake and just going for it, its hard for me to sell off that truck, never left me down and been all over with or without fifth wheel. we are going next week on vacation to branson mi for 5 days 500 miles pulling about 10000. i will then think about it. dale hope to hear from you. enjoy this life my friend, maybe we see ya on the road. i`ll have a cold one waiting on ya ;Djohnandgaby
