I don"t understand if the Deville tank is similar to the Seville yet check this and read the short article by 96STS. It"s something to consider and may make the project a little easier. Http://www.historicsweetsballroom.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25804

I don"t understand if a "97 is the exact same as the "00+ as much as the fuel pump goes, but.....there is an access panel in the stems on the "00+ therefore you can lift the pump/sender assembly out w/out having to fall the tank. It"s top top the ideal side towards the front of the vehicle. If you pull the trim back you can"t miss it. There are obviously a lot of differences between the "97 and also the newer ones however it can"t hurt to take a peek.Jim

I was pretty surprised once I establish what that access panel to be for. Swapping the fuel pump is a 15-minute ordeal. Creating an access panel into the trunk is a many trouble come accomodate an event that should happen probably when in the car"s lifetime. Even without the accessibility panel, dropping the tank wouldn"t it is in that large a deal. I"m certain glad that hole is there, though. Ns swapped fuel pumps this particular day myself.Jim
Do you have any type of pictures that the location? I have a 1997 Deville and I can"t uncover any access panel in the trunk, even though I completely removed the feel liner.Thank you.

This thread to be 12 year dead and the previous short articles don"t yes, really give any advice for the (no access hatch, tank fall only). A couple of old posts DO state over there is no hatch in a 1997. Among the hazards of looking at old background first. For the 1997 it"s tank fall time. No fun.
Thanks. I was afraid of that. Guess: v it"s time to traction the auto onto the concrete slab and jack it up - as soon as the rain stops.
